Synaptic._reverse invites consciousness to lose — and re-encounter — itself through its own reverberations: a continual calibration between blur and clarity, recognition and dissolution, presence and forgetting.
synaptic._reverse attempts to articulate the non-linear surges of the subconscious — sensations that exist beyond language — by placing the focus on perception itself: how it flashes, fractures, loops back, and reassembles into a temporary, unstable reality.
Visually, the work is structured across four layers, operating between motion and stillness, presence and absence. Through inversion, fragmentation, displacement, noise, and improvisational recomposition, the system controls the probability of flashbacks and the intensity of perceptual pulses. The visuals are imagined as something that breathes freely.
The sound is organized into three groups.
The atmospheric layer forms the emotional foundation through sub-bass frequencies and environmental field recordings.
The rhythmic layer interweaves low, mid, and high frequencies in a relational structure.
The event layer introduces stochastic noise elements, shaping unpredictability through control over reverb, distortion, granularity, and randomness.
The work aims to construct a real-time system in which sound and visuals continuously influence one another. It operates in a semi-automated state while allowing for live intervention, creating a spatial experience marked by rupture and perceptual discontinuity.
